Policies and Procedures
Welcome to Montgomery County Sports Massage. I am 100% committed to your satisfaction.
Please read each policy to ensure that you have a GREAT experience with me.
Cancellations/Rescheduling
1. If I am not able to make a scheduled appointment, I agree to cancel or reschedule the appointment at least 24 hours in advance. I agree to pay $50 or 50% of the session rate (whichever is greater) if I give less than 24 hours notice.
2. I agree to pay the full session rate if I give 2 hours notice or less, or if I miss an appointment without giving notice.
3. If, within 24 hours of my session, I develop a contagious illness, or have a sudden, unplanned health or personal emergency rendering me unable to make my appointment, I will inform Montgomery County Sports Massage right away, and if they are unable to fill my vacancy, I will pay the cancellation fee, or session fee (if less than 2 hours notice), unless an exception is granted, only at the discretion of Montgomery County Sports Massage.
4. I understand that I am still responsible for my appointment until I hear back from a staff member confirming they received my email, phone call, or text requesting cancellation/rescheduling.
5. A credit card number or prepayment is required to reserve your appointment. If you have not provided this by phone, please do so immediately. If it is more convenient, you may also prepay for your session. Appointments made without a credit card guarantee or prepayment may be cancelled.
Arrival Time/Session Length
1. I understand I must arrive 5-10 minutes early for any appointment in order to get the full session time I have scheduled. If I arrive on time, or late, I understand the therapist can only give me whatever time remains of my appointment, and that I will pay for the full length of session that I booked.
2. I understand that in order for me to receive the best massage therapy possible, I know that I have to communicate anything and everything, including my needs, preferences, requests or feedback, at any time before, during, or after my massage. I take it upon myself to communicate right away if there is anything distracting me or if I feel unwell or uncomfortable at any time during the session so that she can make adjustments. I understand that my therapist wants my HONEST feedback – positive or negative – and doesn’t take offense to it.
Please read each policy to ensure that you have a GREAT experience with me.

FAQs
Q: Do you only work on athletes?
A: No, that’s just my specialty. Anyone and everyone is welcome. I work with student athletes to weekend warriors, and everyone in between!
Q: How long will my massage session last?
A: The hands-on portion of your massage session will be for the length of time you booked, i.e., if you book a 60-minute massage session, I will be working on your body for that amount of time. Please allow an additional 15-20 minutes of time in your schedule for intake and outtake.
Q: I’ve never had a massage, what should I expect during my first session?
A: Your massage will be in a private room. We will have a brief consultation before your massage to discuss any of your concerns and I will walk you through the process.
Q: Do I have to undress for my massage?
A: I will step out of the room for you to undress to your level of comfort. Many people fully undress, however some people feel more comfortable wearing their underwear. You will always be covered with a sheet and blanket, with only the area I’m working on being uncovered at that time.
Q: When should I NOT get a massage?
A: If you are sick or feel as if you may be getting sick, have a contagious skin condition, or have an acute injury, we will need to reschedule your massage. As always, contact me as soon as possible if you are unsure.
Q: Does massage hurt?
A: Massage should not be painful. If you experience any pain or discomfort during your session, please let me know so that I may make any adjustments. Deeper pressure may be used in some areas, however the pressure should never be so deep that it causes you to hold your breath or tense up.
Q: How many sessions will it take to “fix” my problem?
A: Although I can’t technically “fix” you or your problem, the treatment timeframe will depend on a few different factors, such as how long it has been a problem, what activities aggravate it and how often you do those, as well as how often you actively work on correcting the problem. In general, the longer a problem has been bothering you, the longer it may take to “fix” it. Most likely it will require more frequent sessions to start, then taper down to maintenance sessions thereafter. We will work together to develop a treatment plan that best suits your needs.
Q: Is it okay to talk during my massage?
A: This is your time and you may talk if you prefer. I will ask questions and check in with you throughout our session in order to best serve your therapeutic needs.
Q: How will I feel after my massage?
A: It is normal to feel relaxed and sometimes a bit disoriented directly after a massage. You may also feel tired and have some muscle soreness for 24-48 hours after your treatment. Please be careful when driving and doing precision work directly after your massage.
Q: What should I do after my massage?
A: You should relax as much as possible for the next 24 hours. Drink several glasses of water throughout the day. If you received deep tissue work, take a hot shower or better yet, a 20-30 minute bath with a cup or two of epsom salt.
