Policies & Procedures
I am 100% committed to your satisfaction. Please take a moment to read through my policies so I can ensure we have a GREAT experience together.
Cancellations & Rescheduling
1. If you are not able to make a scheduled appointment, you agree to cancel or reschedule the appointment at least 24 hours in advance. You agree to pay $50 or 50% of the session rate (whichever is greater) if you give less than 24 hours notice.
2. You agree to pay the full session rate if you give 2 hours notice or less, or if you miss an appointment without giving notice.
3. If you develop a contagious illness or experience a sudden personal or health emergency within 24 hours of your appointment, please contact me right away. If I am unable to fill the vacancy, the standard cancellation or late cancellation fee will apply unless an exception is granted at my discretion.
4. You are still responsible for your appointment until you receive confirmation that your cancellation or reschedule request was received.
5. A credit card number or prepayment is required to reserve your appointment. If you have not provided this by phone, please do so immediately. If it is more convenient, you may also prepay for your session. Appointments made without a credit card guarantee or prepayment may be cancelled.
Arrival Time & Session Length
1. You understand you must arrive 5-10 minutes early for any appointment in order to get the full session time you have scheduled. If you arrive on time, or late, you understand the therapist can only give you whatever time remains of your appointment, and that you will pay for the full length of session that you booked.
2. For the best possible session, please communicate your needs, preferences, and feedback openly, before, during, and/or after your massage. If anything feels uncomfortable or distracting at any time, speak up right away so I can make adjustments. I genuinely want your honest feedback and never take offense to it.

FAQs
Is sports massage only for competitive athletes?
No. The name is misleading. Sports massage is for anyone who uses their body regularly and feels the effects of it — runners, cyclists, CrossFitters, construction workers, nurses, desk workers with chronic neck tension, parents carrying toddlers. If your body takes a beating and you want to recover faster and hurt less, this is for you.
How long will my massage session last?
The hands-on portion of your massage lasts for the time you booked. For example, a 60-minute massage includes 60 full minutes of bodywork. Please allow an extra 15–20 minutes for consultation, assessment, and post-session discussion to tailor your care.
What should I expect during my first session?
We'll start with a brief conversation about what's going on in your body, your activity level, and your goals. From there, the session is fully customized — I'll use whatever combination of techniques makes the most sense for you that day.
Do I have to undress for my massage?
You may undress to your level of comfort. Many clients prefer to fully undress, while others choose to keep underwear on, and some prefer to stay fully clothed. You’ll be covered with a sheet and blanket, with only the area being treated uncovered at a time.
When should I NOT get a massage?
Please reschedule if you are sick, think you might be getting sick, have a contagious skin condition, or have an acute injury. If you’re unsure, contact me and I’ll help you determine whether massage is appropriate or if we should wait.
Does sports massage hurt?
It can be intense at times, especially during deep tissue or trigger point work. It should never feel sharp, alarming, or unbearable. You're always in control of the pressure, and communication during the session is encouraged and welcome. Post-session soreness is normal and typically resolves within a day or two.
Do I need to be injured to book a session?
Not at all. Many clients come in for regular maintenance — managing soreness, improving mobility, and preventing injuries before they start. The best time to address a problem is before it becomes one.
How many sessions will it take to feel better?
Every body is unique. The number of sessions depends on how long the issue has been present, your daily activity, and how consistently you follow through with aftercare. Most clients start with more frequent sessions to make progress, then move to maintenance visits once things improve. Together, we’ll build a treatment plan that fits your needs and schedule.
How soon after an injury should I get a massage?
It depends on the injury. In many cases, gentle massage can begin within a few days to help reduce swelling and stiffness. For more serious injuries, it’s best to wait until cleared by a healthcare provider. We’ll customize your treatment plan based on your recovery stage.
How often should I get a sports massage?
It depends on your activity level and what you're working through. For general maintenance and injury prevention, most active people benefit from sessions every 2–4 weeks. If you're dealing with a specific injury or preparing for an event, more frequent sessions (weekly or bi-weekly) tend to produce faster results.
Is it okay to talk during my massage?
Absolutely! Some people prefer quiet relaxation, while others enjoy conversation. I’ll check in periodically to ensure pressure and technique feel right. This is your time.
How will I feel after my massage?
You’ll likely feel relaxed, looser, and possibly a bit tired. Mild soreness for 24–48 hours can be normal, especially after deep tissue or sports work. Drink plenty of water, move gently, and take your time standing up after your session.
What should I do after my massage?
Hydrate well, rest, and avoid strenuous activity for a day. A warm Epsom salt bath or light stretching can help ease soreness and improve recovery. If you have questions or experience unusual discomfort, please reach out.
How is sports massage different from a regular relaxation massage?
Relaxation massage is designed to help you decompress and feel good in the moment. Sports massage is clinical work — it targets specific muscles, movement patterns, and problem areas with the goal of actually changing something. It can include deep tissue work, assisted stretching, cupping, IASTM, trigger point therapy, and corrective exercise — whatever your body needs that day.
Do you offer post-surgical or lymphatic drainage massage?
Yes. Gentle lymphatic and post-surgical massage techniques can help reduce swelling, inflammation, and scar tissue buildup. These sessions are customized to your healing stage and medical guidance.
Do you accept HSA/FSA cards?
Yes. I accept HSA and FSA cards, as well as cash, check, Zelle, Venmo, and all major credit cards.
Do you take insurance?
Most massage services in Texas are not billed through insurance, but some health savings accounts (HSAs) or flexible spending accounts (FSAs) may apply. I'm happy to provide receipts if your plan covers therapeutic massage.
